ComfyUI
Head of Product Design at ComfyUI · Feb 2025–Present
Comfy is the go-to tool for creative professionals making media with AI. Not just images and video, but 3D, audio, even LoRAs. Most tools hide everything behind a prompt box. Comfy puts the whole workflow out on a canvas, so you can see and tweak every step.
For a long time I was the only designer here, so I've touched pretty much every part of the product, from the node graph power users live in to newer surfaces like App Mode and ComfyHub built for a much broader audience.
Until now we haven't prioritized much work on visual polish or UI, focusing instead on UX and nailing the experience for our ICPs. That's about to change, so stay tuned.
Here are a few examples.
App Mode & ComfyHub
App Mode turns a node graph into a simple app. One person builds the workflow; everyone else just runs it through a normal UI, no graph in sight. ComfyHub is where those apps get shared and discovered.
Nodes 2.0
A redesign of the node, the basic building block every ComfyUI workflow is made of. The hard part was evolving it without breaking power-user muscle memory, or the huge ecosystem of community extensions built on top.
Subgraphs
Take any chunk of a graph and collapse it into a single reusable block. That's a subgraph. You can publish them, fork them, share them. Workflows that used to be an impossible tangle now fit on one screen.
And honestly these are just a few of many. There's also Templates, auth and subscription flows, a million quality-of-life features, Shell UI and UX updates, new toolbars and toolkits, and plenty more I'm leaving out. I'm now Head of Product Design here, and I've grown the team to six product designers so far. When I joined we were pre-revenue; we've since crossed $10M ARR.
