Hypothetic — Factory

Co-founder & CPO · 2022–2025

Factory takes any 3D model that can be broken into parts and varies those parts across thousands of permutations, all while staying inside the constraints the art team sets. A character, for example, splits into bodies, faces, clothing, and accessories. The problem it solves: when a brand launches a collection, they need hundreds or thousands of unique 3D models, fast. Doing it by hand doesn't scale, and most procedural tools spit out samey results where you can see the seams in the assembly.

A walkthrough of the Figma prototype.

RTFKT became our first real users. They needed to generate 60,000 unique 3D characters for an NFT collection.

The live app at the point RTFKT used it. A bit less polished, but functional.

They ended up generating over 100,000 characters with it, then curated those down to 60,000 inside Hydrogen. That set became the final Animus NFT collection.
